The Story of KATTE-KWAAD
Welcome to my story and inspiration to my brand KATTE-KWAAD.
The word "kattekwaad" in Afrikaans is borrowed from the Dutch word "kattenkwaad".
When translated to English, it means: mischief, naughtiness, tricks, pranks.
KATTE-KWAAD is a commemoration to all the cats I have ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with and those who still share my life: Boetiekat, Sokkies, Tinkerbell and Mpimpi.
Although my love and passion for cats started at a young age, it was actually my loving husband who suggested the name.
I have always dreamt of owning a brand that represents who I am, inspired to be, and all the things that make my life such a blessing (husband Heinrich, kids Emma & Emily and cats).
One of the main reasons I love cats so much is that they just don't care how cute, silly, and tired they look. They just have this sense of purpose and belonging about them.
It is my wish that we can all laugh at ourselves and not care so much what other people may think.
To me, the brand represents the perfect balance between fulfillment and expectations.
It is such a pleasure to make you part of the KATTE-KWAAD family.
